* Tempers get people in trouble, but pride keeps them there.

* Pride hides a person's faults to themselves and magnifies them to everyone else.

* When people talk about the things they can't afford sometimes forget that the list should include pride, envy and malice.

* Lots of people get credit for being cheerful when they are just proud of their teeth.
